We recently had the great privilege of attending the Autoplex in Castlemaine for the public memorial celebrating Larry O’Toole.
It was special to hear Shane, Carmen, Lara and Al speak of their father, each bringing out good aspects of their father’s life, activity and character. You often learn about people in the story telling at a funeral or memorial. Father Figures / Auto Recycling - 19th January 2023

A highlight for the ASRF Street Rod Nationals committee has been confirmation of an International guest. Matt Murray from Iron Trap Garage is looking forward to attending the Nationals. Matt is a traditional hot rod builder from Pensylvania USA and his popular YouTube channel is centered around digging old cars, trucks, and motorcycles out of America’s Northeast with tips and tricks for restoring, hot rodding and customizing. Matt is a traditional hot rod builder from Pensylvania USA and his popular YouTube channel is centered around digging old cars, trucks, and motorcycles out of America’s Northeast with tips and tricks for restoring, hot rodding and customizing.
This session’s topic deals with steering, which, along with brakes, is a critical part of building hot rods.
Steering is a critical element of vehicle building that needs to be done to sound engineering practice if you want a safe project car. Let’s look at some of the key elements:

Mountain District Rodders Melbourne would like to acknowledge the passing of our good friend and long-term member, Ian Chinn or “Chinny” as he was affectionately known to us all. Unfortunately, Chinny passed away unexpectedly and leaves behind his wife Jenny, sons Stuart and Haydn, daughter Rylea and nine grandchildren. Vale - Ian Chinn - 5th January 2023

Steve Houlahan’s career in hot rodding began at an early age. Working in the family’s earthmoving business meant that mechanical things were never far away, and fabrication and mechanical skills were learned from the many skilled tradesmen working there. His first foray into car fabrication was building a bush buggy powered by a Triumph Mayflower flathead four! ASRF LEGEND – STEVE HOULAHAN - 29th December 2022

These include overhauling the ASRF from an association structure to a company limited guarantee, this has also meant that the constitution had to reflect these requirements. Tony’s interest in building hot rods began at a very early age. He was just 15 years old when he started to build a ‘T’ Wine Wagon in his father’s shed in Nuriootpa SA. His inspiration and guide was a Revel scale model kit. ASRF LEGEND – TONY KUCHEL - 14th October 2022
