On the 7th April 2019, Idle Wild Hot Rod & Custom Club (Prospect) held their first show for this year at the M Centre, Minchinbury, to raise money for a family going through tough times. This wonderful family has six children, four of them living with Autism and Aspergers.

The show was a great success. The weather was in our favour and over 140 cars turned up to support the show and our cause.

We had the BBQ cranking from 8am until almost 2pm, a live band was playing, we had a few trade stands and a jumping castle for the little ones. At around 1.30 we started raffling off some 25+ prizes which were all donated to us. Help from some members selling tickets on the day added to the fundraising that little bit more. We also handed out ten trophies to deserving cars.

We had Sean the father, his wife and all six kids also present on the day and had one of our members drive the kids around in his hot rod, which they loved.

At our club meeting on April 23, we asked Sean and his family to attend so we could present a cheque to him for $4,500. Sean was that overwhelmed he was hesitant to accept the cheque and could not believe he was receiving this amount. Sean and his wife could not thank the club enough and some tears were shed. What a great feeling to actually help out a family going through what they’re dealing with.

I would personally like to thank all of my members of Idle Wild Prospect Branch for their work leading up to the show, to all the sponsors, trade stands and to all the entrants who turned up to support us and Sean’s family.
