With the 25th anniversary ASRF Nationals at Albury now postponed for two years, Tasmania’s affiliated clubs are joining forces to present a bi-annual regional nationals in 2022.
The official dates for the Central Coast Nationals at Ulverston, Tasmania are April 7-10, 2022. That’s the weekend before Easter, giving interstate participants plenty of time to take in everything that the island state has to offer before and after the event.
The town of Ulverstone itself is a gem, just 20 kilometres from the port of Devonport, docking point for the massive Spirit of Tasmania ferry. It’s a scenic drive along the northern coastline to arrive at Ulverstone, on the mouth of the River Leven.
Just over the river is West Ulverstone and the host venue, the Ulverstone Show Grounds, which has enjoyed considerable redevelopment including an all new sports and leisure centre which will be utilised for indoor gatherings. Local accommodation is abundant, and the on-site camping area is located right on the river and boasts plenty of powered sites and modern amenities.
Mark Brazendale (aka Braz) confirmed that the big weekend will include local cruising, massive show and shine, and even a day out at Symmons Plains Raceway. Thanks to the input of local council, plan for some closed street cruising as well.
More information will be released as it comes to hand at www.asrf.org.au/ulverstone2022. Mark may be contacted on 0474 039 988.
