To most rodders, Rick Pacey is known as one of the country’s leading custom spray painters and airbrush artists. However, few realise that Rick’s interests in rodding go much, much further.

Rick purchased his first car at the tender age of 14 years. He customised his ’38 Ford sedan by painting flames by hand with a brush. Early in his career, Rick trained as a signwriter, enhancing his natural talent for detail and fine artwork.

During the 1970’s he started Kustom Kreations on the North Shore of Sydney and his legendary work began. He is still pushing paint through a half inch hose after 53 years in this specialised field, but only as a hobby these days.

Rick has created many iconic hot rods with his custom paintwork designs that have been featured in a variety of magazines since the 70’s. His signature paintwork includes airbrushing, flamework, and pinstriping. Rick is well known in the hot rodding world for his skilful creations on many award winning cars and the yearly Valla trophy.

Since his early teenage years Rick has been continuously involved in the hot rodding scene. In the early 70’s he was President of the Early Iron Street Rods,  Northern Beaches Hot Rod Club and more recently president of Trojans Rod and Custom Club (in the Lismore area) for the past 10 years.
