Over Easter next year, the Queensland city of Maryborough will host the 24th Australian Street Rod Nationals. While the previous three Nationals held in Queensland have all been at Parklands Showgrounds on the Gold Coast, the redevelopment of the site after the 2013 Nats into the Commonwealth Games Village meant it was no longer an option.

Maryborough is located around 250kms (three hours drive) north of Brisbane city. A quaint historic town, it’s just 30km from the coastal community of Hervey Bay, and just over 100km from Bundaberg. Travelling to Maryborough from the south, you’ll pass right by Queensland’s Sunshine Coast and Noosa.

“This venue has hosted numerous large camping rallies involving thousands of people and will be an ideal location for the Nationals visitors to participate in all activities without leaving the site,” said Ross Miller, Chairman of the 2019 Nats Committee. “The site boasts numerous exhibition halls, buildings and open areas for the many traders attending, considerable infrastructure including a sealed road network, excellent lighting, enclosed and under cover arenas, grandstands, canteens, bars and offices that will be used during the 2019 Nationals.”

For entrants planning on camping on site, there is approximately 29 hectares of available space with the capacity to provide 1,000 powered sites and hundreds of unpowered sites. For entrants staying offsite, Maryborough has a range of accommodation including hotels, motels, caravan parks, cabins, units, houses and B&Bs. “The Committee are planning many activities including a Show & Shine on the open public days, Go to Whoa, chassis dyno shootout, Ladies High Tea, novelty games and rocker cover racing. Cruise the track and try your skill on the balance beam, there will be a mini rod cruise track and kids corner for the younger rodders,” confirms Ross.Sponsorship packages are available to suit any business and budget so if you wish to be a part of the 2019 ASRF Nationals, please contact John LaFave at  j.lafave@fittresources.com.au or call 0418 714 903.
